1841 census - William SMITH (publican) in Pershore
« on: Sunday 05 February 06 19:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone help me with 1841 census information for William SMITH.
I do not know when/where he was born, but I believe he was the publican of the White Hart Inn on Newland Street in Pershore at that time.

If it helps, he had a son William Henry SMITH born about 1836/1837 in Pershore, who should be recorded as being 4 years old.

Thanks, Dave

Thanks for that, probably means that the elder William had died before then.

Does you reply mean that the younger William was not found at all, or just not found with his father?

If it helps, in later censuses, the younger William was consistently recorded as being born in Pershore in 1837, as :-

William SMITH in 1851
William Henry SMITH in 1861 & 1881
William Hy SMITH in 1871
William H SMITH in 1891

Regards, Dave

OK, Understand.

Would it be presumptuous to ask for a search on just William SMITH?

Will understand if not possible.
Thanks anyway, Dave

Hi Dave,

Still can't find him.  Have looked through the whole of Pershore images, problem is some of the pages are totally unreadable - just  little black squiggles, where they have faded!

Perhaps that's where they are  ???
