Jacksons: Snaith and surrounding area
« on: Sunday 05 February 06 18:52 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for any information about the Jacksons, who lived in and around Snaith.  My great great grandfather, Daniel Jackson, was born in Goole in 1833 and died in Nitshill near Glasgow in 1898.  He married Hannah Pulman in 1852.

His father was John Jackson, a farmer and his mother was Mary Morley.  His grandfather was Daniel Jackson and his grandmother was Elizabeth Scorah.

Any help much appreciated.

lrhoggan,

I'm descended from Elizabeth Scorah's brother Thomas (1775- 1824) which makes us distant cousins.

I've more info on the Scorahs if you're interested?

Hello... I am related to the JACKSON family as my grandfathers Aunt Elizabeth Robertson married John Jackson son of Hannah Pulman and Daniel Jackson. They had George, Hannah, John Thomas, Daniel and Archibald Robertson Jackson who was the informant on his Aunts death, Margaret Stodart nee Robertson sister to his mother Elizabeth.
His address was Hull at the time. I have found the family in severtal census but cannot find their deaths in Scotland so presume they all came back to Yorkshire
Would like to have any information about their family especially the death of Archibald Robertson Jackson who died 1960 in Paragon Hull. Am sure this is their son. Wonder if anyone is able to look up an old Hull Newspaper or his death record just to provide proof of parentage and give an informant...any help no matter how little would be very much appreciated
