Hello again,
I found the following marriages:
22 July 1876
John Kerigan and Eliza (?) Lyons (Eliza was transcribed with a question mark)
Fathers: Patrick Kerigan and Thomas Lyons
Witnesses:
Edward Sweeney, Marshside
Elizabeth Easham(?), Southport
Edward Sweeney is on my family tree and he married Elizabeth Eastham.
6th May 1893
James Keregan and Bridget Riley, both of Little Ireland
Fathers: Patrick Keregan and Thomas Riley
Witnesses: John and Agnes Burke, Bury Road, Birkdale
On October 17 1874 John Kerrigan and Ellen Cain were witnesses at the wedding of Michael Cain and Mary McGurn. Witnesses were usually family members so this might be useful information.
As the Kerrigans were close to my Conways and Sweeneys, it is possible that they came from the same area in Ireland.
My family came from Westport, Mayo.
If you have a look at the censuses it will give you an idea of when they arrived in England and hopefully might give a town of birth as well as "Ireland".
(I found one entry stating "Westport" in 1851!)
