Bunce help needed

HI everyone
I am trying to help a collegue at work who has spent a few years on her tree.
She is having problems with an ancestor who she cant find a birthcertificate for.
His name is Henry George Bunce born abt 1854. Now here is the bit that is confusing. He was supposedly born in Stafford Birmingham(being one word).
Needless to say that she is pulling her hair out
I have also posted this to Birmingham board as do not know which board to send it to

Could some kind person please help
