Hi, Can not find a Burnham street in St.Olaves 1841.

Have you got full name and person who registered the death/

There are Bayle's in Shoreditich in 1841

Hello Eric

An oldie it is...........

Unfortunately the 1841 census rarely gives house numbers in Streets/Roads......

So......you have a death cert of a Hannah Bayly (Bailey).......why?
when did Hannah die?
Hannah's age?
is P. Bayley a male/female?

St Olave registration district is that part just over Tower Bridge (south of the River Thames)

Could that death cert say something else such as Bermondsey Street in abbreviated format?

1841
Bermondsey Street, St Olave, Southwark, Surrey
Thos Bayley    60   cordwainer    y
Betty      "        55                        y
Elizabeth "       30                        y
Maria       "       24                        y
----------

their are 30 Bailey/Bayly in St Olave in 1841.......no Hannah's and none beginning with P..... Hannah's can be Ann's, Ann's can be Mary Ann's so personally I wouldn't draw any conclusions from that!

hello Bryant,

Hannah died 11 sept 1840,age 49 years. i have no idea if p. bayly is a male or female. Hannah's husband Joseph Clarke died in 1838. i am almost positive that the address is 12 burnham street but who knows.

thank you for your efforts

Eric

The website below.......I tried, well I was going to, to look for Burnham Street........1841 P.O Directory for London.....Streets, Trades etc

http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/findbylocation.asp

Unfortunately my link or the time of day prevents me getting there......ie its slow

It might give you who lived at number 12 if a trade or professional person lives there?
