Abbreviation Mystery

I obtained the enrollment record of the Connaught Rangers for my ancestor James Halpin (date of attestation 29/1/1863). He had previously been a Private in the 89th Regiment and then joined the North Mayo Militia (date of attestation 1/10/1855).

His discharge date is given as 1/2/1868 in Ballina Co Mayo. The mystery is the cause of his discharge. This is given as W.O.C. 19th March 1859. Can anyone tell me what W.O.C stands for

I had thought it was Wounded on Campaign but I couldn't prove it and I have no idea what campaign it would have been.
