Hi again Mrs Doc
There are no Finlays or Edgars but there are two Davisons.  Also two Davidsons - with a 'd' - noted them all just in case.

Andrew Davison buried 15.4.1886 of Blue Quarries age 26years
Isabella Davison buried 1.12.1885 of Sheriff Hill aged 72 years

Jane Davidson buried 15.9.1886 of Low Fell aged 86 years
Thomas Davidson buried 15.8.1886 of Plantation Cottage aged 19 years.

The book came through my family, my Mum's side, though absolutely none of my ancestors get a mention!  It is actually the Parish Magazine for each month bound into a volume at the end of the year.  I think it was quite common as I have seen other similar ones for different parishes.  I think, though don't take this as gospel, that the actual magazine was a national publication by the church and each parish added their own notices at the end.  There is mention in these notices for people to put their names down for the bound volume and the payments made to the book binder.
It is a fascinating snippet of history.

Thanks for that Susan. Don't recognise the late lamented Davi(d)sons but will make a note for future reference. Take care of your book, as you say it is a piece of history and priceless I would say.
Thanks again,
Mrs Doc

Hello
Sorry, none of your lot seem to have been, baptised, married or buried during that year.

Hi Kathleen

Sorry no, none of these people appear in the book. It only covers a very short period though so don't be too disappointed.  :)
