Do you have ancesters in Gateshead Fell 1886?
« on: Tuesday 31 January 06 11:54 GMT (UK) »
I have the Parish Magazine for Gateshead Fell 1886. Included at the end of the volume are the parish notices and accounts.

If you think you may have had any family in the area at the time I will be happy to look through it.

There are christenings, marriages and burials and also donations by parishioners are noted in the accounts.

There are also various committees mentioned, so even if you don't expect a BMD in 1886 there may be a mention of an ancestor who was perhaps a member of the 'Young Men's Improvement Society' or maybe yours is Mr Foot who was paid 5s for 'making a tank'   ???

Never get tired of looking at it so let me know, however vague you think your connection may be.

Thanks for the offer

Hi Peter

There is just one Thompson mentioned and I'm afraid it won't be any use to you as there is no initial but in December 1885 'Miss Thompson (along with some others)was thanked for providing teas for the Mother's Union'

Sorry that's it!

I have ancestors by the names of Wilder, Hepple and Knox who were living in the Gateshead Fell area and would be interested if any of these were in the magazine.

Hi Susan

Could you please see if there are any mentions of the surnames BARRASS, BARRAS, BARRESS or maybe other spellings.  Thanks in advance

Gina

Hi Gina
Sorry no Barrass, or variety of.

Geordiegirl if you're still watching this thread, I see you have Bell's in Gateshead.  There are a couple of Bell's in the register would you like their details?
