CLARK Family (1750-1850) Eglingham, Northumberland
« on: Tuesday 31 January 06 04:30 GMT (UK) »
My great great grandmother Euphans Cook ( nee Clark) was born 23 October 1817 to John & Jane Clark of South Lilburn , in Eglingham Parish, Northumberland and christened at Wooler Cheviot Street Presbyterian on 4 November 1817.

Are there any Northumbrian Clark's  with research which can carry my maternal line into the 1700's?

Can anyone suggest how to go about doing this reseach at geographical distance?

Thanks vey much!          Lumber-Jack

Hi Jack,
I think we could be after the same info.  I have a Euphans  married to Thomas Cook.  I found the same one as you and think she could be
related.   I have traced her in the 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 census.
Also have maybe 6 siblings. again guessing the connection.
I have found and John and Jane Clark in the 1861 census also.

Hi Maz/Lumber Jack,
In the top of my BLYTHE family line I have a Margaret CLARK who marries William BLYTHE in Eglingham in 1799. Witnesses at the wedding were John Clark, Alice Clark and Cuthbert Turner.
Any info to help Margarets origins would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,

Hi Guys,
A minor correction to the previous post:
I was looking for some of my family in the transcript of the
Eglingham Parish registers when I came across a Blythe which I think is
yours...you probably have the details anyway.
William Blyth married Margaret Clark on May 19th 1799. witnesses were
William Clark, Cuthbert Turner, Alice Clark and John Clark.
           bye for now,
