THATCHER
« on: Monday 30 January 06 07:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am researching Frederick THATCHER born abt 1830 Richmond, Surrey, England  and his wife Ann NEARY born abt 1830 Wandsworth, Surrey, England.

I was hoping some kind soul out there could help me find their parents and ancestors etc.

Any help at all please.

The best way to go about this is to obtain a copy of Frederick and Ann's marriage certificate, which would name the fathers of both parties.

Hi Myfamily,

The IGI at www.familysearch.org has a matching christening:

26 June1831 at Saint Mary Magdalen, Richmond
Parents Richard Thatcher and Mary
Batch C013343
In the same batch there's another christening for the couple.

I can see one Thatcher family in Richmond on the 1851 census - unfortunately, Fred is not with them and I can't find him anywhere:

HO107/1605 250 6 & 7
Richmond St John, Surrey
12 Crofton Terrace
Richard Thatcher, head, 47, Jobbing gardener, b. Surrey Thorpe
Mary, wife, 45, b. Somerset Bath
Mary A, dau, 23, servant, b. Surrey Kew
Richard, son, 15, b. Surrey Richmond
Sarah, dau, 12, b. Surrey Mortlake
Thomas, son, 7, b. do.
William, son, 5, b. do.
Elizabeth, dau, 2, b. Richmond
Infant, dau, under 1mo, b. Richmond

Might be worth requesting a 1841 census look-up?

In any case, you'd need the marriage cert to actually prove the connection.
