I've received this info from Wagtail
"My Granddads name was Thomas, they could be married about t the 1870, as a rough idea, and they would have been married in Spalding. I remember Mum saying that Gran's surname was Cardinal, but that seems to me to be too much of a coincidence 'Cardinal Woolsey', there was a very large family of perhaps 12 to 13."
So far, I have only found one Thomas WOOLSEY, with wife Elizabeth in the 1881 census, living in Messingham. They had 3 children, but just the same 3 in 1891, so they seem unlikely.
There was a John Thomas WOOLSEY married in Spalding in 1870 but his wife was not Elizabeth - it was Jemima.. I will chase them up to see if they were prolific breeders. Hmmm, they had 3 in 1881 and only one more in 1891.
