Thank you for your reply. Since I posted that info, a couple of things have come to light. My great aunt Olga, who was the last of Margaret's children, died last Autumn. Amongst her belongings were many photos, mainly form her fathers side (Roiz de Sa), but there was one of Margaret as a young woman, probably in her late teens. The mark on the back was Nuremberg. At the funeral, some my great aunt's nieces suggested that Margaret had said that she came from a very large, poor family and had arrived alone in England aged 20. They also said that she considered herself Austrian, rather than German.
All a bit woolly, but something to consider.
