Hi cep

In the Reeves census, did you ever come across a family with Rachel, Rose and Emma in it?

Their is a question from the living member of the family that these were names they remembered being Henry Edwards sisters. ???????????

I checked the BMD and did find a Emma Reeve , West Ham , 1872 Vol 4a pg 6 but no Rose or Rachel.

Thanks, Pat

The only place we reliably find Henry Reeves is the 1901 census.

He is reported as b. 1874 in Southend, Essex.

Presumably Southend on Sea, Rochford district, but may be anywhere.

I can't find him in any other census, Rachel & Rose are no help, and too many Emmas to be useful.

Can't even find his birth.

Think you are going to have to buy a certificate.

There are lots of hints, like a Grace Lillian b. Leigh on Sea, near Southend, 1895.
Could this be a family name?

Hi
Have been reading yr messages regarding Reeves family in West Ham. My father was George Reeves, b 1910 (or 13) his mother was Elizabeth Jessie Reeves (dad unknown!) do you know if your Henry had any sisters? Strangely enough, my grandmother always used to call herself Gracie.
Thanks
Viv

Hi Viv:, Sorry I didn't respond sooner

I recently sent a letter to British Columbia to the daughter of Grace Reeves, asking the same question.  I have absolutely no information regarding Henrys siblings or parents so I am at a dead end.

My mother said that her dad ( William Henry)told her that they moved to Canada several times over the years, sold everything in Canada and moved back to England, but always came back to Canada.  Have no idea where they went back to either.

If I hear from Graces daughter I will respond again.

Take care

Pat  :D

Hi Viv :D

Its ironic that you just responded because I am sitting here filling in the info from the marriage certificate I received Wednesday.

I never received a letter back from the relative so I broke down and asked for the marriage certificate of Henry Edward to find his fathers name and siblings.

So Far:

James Richard Reeves who was from Kent County.  The response was dated last Thursday here so you can follow it there. Unfortunately I do not know any info pertaining to your George in 1910

Lots of info to chew on for awhile.  Will keep you posted.

Pat

 :) HI Pat

You will never guess....my ex husbands gt grandfather was a James Richard Reeves but they all came from Bermondsey. Apart from my being born a Reeves, I had to go marry one too! So you can imagine the fun I am having building a family tree for my kids!
