Hi

wonder if you could look for a marriage between a John Johnson and a Sarah, do not know her maiden name and not even sure if it will be there, but I have looked through other transcipts and as yet been unable to find anything.  John and Sarah first child was born in 1826 so the marriage could be around about that time.

Hi

With regards to John Johnson and Sarah.  They were living in Pelton on the 1841 census.  Their children were born in Pelton, Thomas born 1826 being the first.

I haven't  been able to locate their marriage, John Johnson born around 1798 and Sarah born around 1803 birthplace listed as Chester le Street.  Have had someone look at the marriages in Chester le Street, and I have looked at some parishes around Chester le Street, but again been unable to find a John and Sarah marriage.  To be honest, I just thought about searching any others just to see if they were listed, with them probably getting married around 1826 it is too early to search the marriage index.  With me not living near Durham, I can't search the parishes for the marriage myself. I am going to send for the birth certificate of one of their children, James born 1838 and it would at least give me Sarahs maiden name.

Hi Dust Fairy

I think that your best bet would be to check the Paul Joiners Index on Genuki and there are lots of John Johnson's...

You have a look on there.. and the codes after the names gives an area of where the marriage took place..

If you do get that Birth Cert you would also be able to check on that list for the Bride as well whick will confirm an area..

Its about all I can suggest..

Just Google for Genuki and have a scout around

Hi there,

I would be really greatful for any info regarding Jane Bainbridge, I believe she was born in 1820 to Christopher and Mary (nee Forster).  She had an illigitimate son in 1838 in the Parish of St. Giles.  I cannot find her anywhere.  The child was brought up by his grandparents.  I assume she must have married between the child's birth and the 1841 census.

I would also be greathful for any info on Featherstone Hogdson as he is named on the birth certificate of Jane Bainbridge's son.  I know nothing about him and would love to find out who he later married so I can trace him further.  The Joiner Index shows 2 entries for a Featherston(e) but I think they are too early.....1813 and 1834.

Thank you in anticipation
Legs
