GERMANY: TOPNER / Töpner
« on: Sunday 22 January 06 20:35 GMT (UK) »
I anyone can help with this name which I think is German origin - it is usually spelt with two dots over the O (Töpner). There are also other variations of the name either Toepner or Toeppner.
I wondered if anyone as come across this surname before.

Hi emw,

I used my german keyboard to add the umlauts (pronounced um-lout) to the Töpner name.

Do you have any details on your Töpners, names, ages, places ??

regards,
Bob

Hello
I am Jamie Toeppner from Ontario Canada. I too have been researching the Toeppner name. All Toeppners in Canada are descended from August Frederick Töppner who came to Canada in 1878 from East Prussia. I have no connection to relatives in Europe, but hopefully one day I will. My web site http://www.toeppner.ca has my family tree on it.
