Hi Andy , Just been reading the notes from Phil and yourself, I haven't found a link with  Phil's line although i am sure there is one . Let me know when you are all down this way and that will be great , iam fairly flexable. I have had my holiday this year so it is unlikely i will be going anywhere too far . I will try to organise my notes and give you a copy there may be bits that are of interest, at the moment they are a bit of a mess . Best regards Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,
I've just checked that ticket for the historical dockyard and we have to use it by 13th June so I will get my wife Cathy to organise a date with our friends and their children who are going with us. I asked Phil about sending you my e-mail address so that we can arrange the date and he said to send it to you privately through the profile button. I'll send you my work e-mail and also my home one once I have a date. I am looking forward to meeting you, it's like stepping back through history and bringing it alive. If you have any old photographs that would be great to see as well as the documents.
Regards
Andy

Hi all,

I too am researching the Bowbrick family tree and am glad I found this thread in a Google search.  I am looking to try to connect the Surrey Bowbricks with the South East London and Portsmouth Bowbricks.  I have not found a provable link as yet.

You can view my family tree at http://www.sapsuk.com/bowbrick/ and yes the coat of arms on the front page is as far as I can tell a coat of arms that the Bowbrick family have a right to bear.

I have lots of other information on Bowbricks from around the globe that is not on my tree so if I can be of any help to anyone please ask.  Likewise if anyone has any info to furnish me with please feel free to do so.

I have also set up a group on facebook to help with my name studies at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=5885970805&ref=ts should anyone wish to join and contribute.

Thanks.

Hi Delambo,
Your information is interesting, I have recieved from Elizabeth147 details that Thomas Bowbrick married Sarah Charman on 23-3-1801 in Cranleigh and were the parents of Henry John Bowbrick born 2-2-1815 who married Jane Flisher 25-2-1837.
Your Thomas Bowbrick and Sarah Charman seem to have different children, more investigation is required as from Henry John/Jane Flisher downwards to present day the records are definately correct.
I'll be back online about ten tonight, got to go out now
Regards
Andy

Hi,

I can tell you for almost certain that you are all barking up the wrong tree as far as Thomas Bowbrick and Sarah Charman are concerned - there must be another Thomas and Sarah along the way somewhere, or the records are incorrect.

I can see where you are all coming from though because of this record.

and this record of Thomas Bowbrick marrying Sarah Charman in Cranley, Surrey.

However I think due to the Surrey accent many scriveners had difficulty spelling Bowbrick and came up with kinds of spellings like Bubrick, Bubberick etc...

Thomas Bowbrick and Sarah Charman did in fact have have a Henry Bowbrick(Buberick) but not a Henry John Bowbrick - born in Cranley in 1804 as per this record

They also had 6 other children, William (1801), Thomas (1807), Hannah (1810), Sarah (1812), George (1815) and Harriett (1818) all born in Cranley, Surrey as per my tree here.  I very much doubt that they would have had another Henry in 1815 but please do put me right if you have other evidence.

I do hope you are correct as I can find no evidence of my Henry Bowbrick Marrying or having children so my tree stops there on this line.

I live in Cranleigh (Cranley) and know the area well, I also frequently visit the Woking Family history centre - where all the Surrey records are kept - so if anyone needs anything checked out I am more than happy to do so.

I have just started an online collection of information and documents relating to the Bowbrick name at http://www.sapsuk.com/bowbrick/records.html

If anyone has any scans, photos, information, cuttings, snippets, birth certificates or anything else of any interest to anybody researching the Bowbrick name then please let me have a copy of it and I will pop it on the site.

Thanks.

Hi Delambo, I have since realised my Thomas Bowbrick did not marry Sarah Charman, My Henry John Bowbrick born 1815 in Camberwell Surrey was not the one christened in 1928, i did find a Henry born around that time but that is not my line i know. i am in contact with Andy 128 and at first i was led to believe that Thomas married Sarah Charman, after checking info from Colin Charman and Kristian Bowbrick there lines seem to cross but mine do not. My Henry who married Jane Flisher in1837 has Thomas Bowbrick who was a baker as his fatheron his marriage certificate, which i do have a copy of. I'm sorry for the confusion, I also was given details of a Thomas WilliamBowbrick born !811 who possible is Henry's brother, i haven't confirmed that either. Also on a couple of census that i have seen was a Thomas Bowbrick and a Sarah Banks who married, but i don't know if this is my Thomas, I would assume he was born around 1780 ! . Hi everyone,
The plot thickens..!!
Don't you just love this ancestry chase...so back to the drawing board for myself and Elizabeth147 on our common ancester, Thomas Bowbrick father of Henry John Bowbrick.
Delambo, your tree is great, very impressive site....I hope that at some point there is a cross over with our Bowbricks and yours.
Elizabeth, we will have to keep looking, I beleive that we will be coming down to Portsmouth in the next few weeks, I've noted the dates you are away and will arrange convenient date with you shortly...we are still waiting on some dates from our friends.
In the meantime, good luck and good hunting..!! Regards Andy28
