I had found the death records on BMD but wasn't sure I'd found the right George with the right Alice ..... if you see what I mean (tho' I feel your 'lookup' indicates they were indeed man and wife)  ...... and as you say within days of each other, how strange ugh!  Wonder what happened in Dec Q 1935 in Barnsley?  Only one way to find out - send for certs when finances allow! Hmmmm perhaps there was an outbreak of something sinister..........

Anyway Royston thanks a bunch, I'm very, very grateful you took the time and used your remaining 'couple of tokens' to do that for me.

     I went up the aisle.

     There was a fair congregation.

         I made several collections.

      There were quite a few hymns ( and quite a few hers as well)

    And the checkout girl gave me a right sermon for not having

     any eco bags.
