Hello Carolanne:

Thank you very much for sending me this information.  What a big surprise to see the Ann Myers of Wombwell, that is my 2xgreatgrandmother.  Was wondering if you could send me any other Myers listed only if the list is not too long.

Thank you again and have a great weekend.

Cheers
anne

Would they have Dodworth cemetery records there?

I think of the top of my head, that the bit that is a municipal cemetery is part of the churchyard. They have most of the records so I would imagine so. Either e mail them or give them a ring on Monday.

Hi Anna

I am going down the cem tonight although the group would normally charge for this I will have a quick look.

There is a board with a map of the cemetery on it, however most of the sections do not have markers, a good way to tell though is to look at the bottom kerb stone of a grave and you will sometimes find a letter and number on there.

Hiya Carol and Josie
There aren't many burials with the name French for the years you mentioned.
Minnie French age 67, Beckett Hospital/9 Gerald's Close Kendray, buried 5 March 1952, plot 13-397
Frederick French age 72,9 Gerald Road Kendray, buried 31 October 1953,plot 13-397

Michael Stuart French, age 8 month,24 Matlock Road Athersley, buried 6 February 1953,plot 9-544

Thanks Carolanne! We're pretty certain they will be relatives of ours so whether they are the ones we were looking for or not, we'll certainly be going to visit the graves.
