Hiya Shelley
I think I might have found your family in 1851 under McQuinn do any of these names sound familier
Barnet McQinn 1817
Ellen 1811
Michael 1835
Bridget 1838
William 1841
Ellen 1844
John 1848
All born in Ireland
Jane 1850 born Barnsley all living in New Street.
Going back to look in burial records under McQuinn.
I can see a burial for a Ellen Quinn but her burial was 1872 not 1873 address No 8 Court, New Street Barnsley.

Hi Carolanne,

That does look like my family!!  ;D I do not recognise Bridget & Michael but the rest of the names I have researched & the family did live in New Street. I am so excited I did not think to check for Mc's. Thankyou so very much, I really thought I had hit a brick wall. Carolanne you are a very kind person for helping people out like this. Its so far away for me & the lack of any local knowledge makes it even harder. I can't thank you enough. ;)

Warmest Regards,
Shelley

Hi carolanne,

I just stumbled on this thread at the same time that I am researching and getting confused by a Barnsley family.

I would be very grateful if you could please check for:
James Walker who died March 1/4 1871
and (possibly) his wife Jane Walker who died March 1/4 1880

Many thanks.

Your welcome, I still can't see a burial for Barnet/Barney and I've saved the 1851 census if you need it just PM me your e-mail address.
