Hiya Prim
It doesn't give you the parents names but the address might help you.
William Turner age 11, No 3 Court, 1 Silver Street, burial 26/4/1879 plot Q 141 Uncon

Have you any idea when Joseph might have died ? I'll have a snoop around

Hiya Prim
Could this be Harriet
Harriet Turner age 66, 80 Gawber Road, burial 29/8/1924 plot b/ no entry Con.
I think the no entry means she was buried in a public grave.
The death date works out that Harriet was born circa 1858.

Hi Carolanne,

Thank you for your help. Pity that the burial entry for William didn't give parents' names.  The address is different from the one where William Henry was born but they could have moved in the few months between the death of one child and the birth of the other. Harriet was living (or perhaps visiting) in Silver Street in 1881.

Harriet would have been older than the one you found buried in 1924.  I have three census returns for her and they indicate a birth date of around 1847 at Barnetby-le-Wold in Lincolnshire. In 1901 she is aged 54 a housekeeper at Wombswell, Barnsley and her son William Hy aged 21 is with her. Harriet is married in 1881 but a widow in 1891 so presumably Joseph died sometime in that decade. It could be that in 1881 Harriet was newly widowed but the wrong status was put down for her by mistake - she is in her father's household with her two children George and William Hy then aged 1. Unfortunately Joseph doesn't appear on any of the census returns.

I will pass on what you have found.  Once again thank you very much for your help.

Best wishes,

missprim

Hello Carolanne

May I beg your kindness once more please?  Could your look for the surname of Arnold in the records.
If it's too many to list could you just see if Joseph Arnold is there.
