Carolanne

Many thanks for the information.

I have found the family on the 1901 Census living in Barnsley

John Lane,  his wife Martha and children
Robert 32 yrs, Frances A 30 yrs,  John 26Yrs, Gertrude 19 yrs and Edith 17 yrs.

As a result of your kindness  I have now found four of them. I will continue the search for the son John, Gertrude and Edith. With a popular surname (Lane) and being on the other side of the world, it takes ages to put the jigsaw together..     John Snr was my grandmothers brother.

Thanks again

Cass

Hiya Cass
I can see  two deaths in the death registrations,John W Lane 1934 and Gertrude Lane 1968 the age at death would match their birth years but I can't see them buried with any of the family.
I can see a possible marriage for Edith in 1906 to a William Horne.
Regards Carolanne.

Hi Carolanne, a big thanks for posting the link to the Barnsley Cemeteries Project. Had an extremely fruitful couple of hours there yesterday for the bargain price of £3.50, downloaded loads and loads of stuff with the potential for saving a ruckload of cash with the GRO.

many thanks once more

Google Pitt Street Barnsley South Yorkshire and look for the junction between Pit Street and York Street if you keep zooming in you will see the Grave yard the other streets which surround the Graveyard are George St, Mark St, Princess St.
Will look for the burials now
