Hi, it was the 1851 census for Munslow that I found her married to Thomas Hanson [Anson], also she was married in the parish of Munslow in 1833, a witness at the wedding was Mary Hanson.

HURRAY!!! I've found them in 1841!!!!!! ;D

In the parish of Munslow

HO107/913/2 folio 23 page 11

Thos Anson 45 Sawyer Y
Rachel Anson 35 Y
John Anson 20 Sawyer Y
Esther Anson 15 Y
Mary Anson 7 Y
James Anson 6 Y
Fanny Anson 4 Y
Ann Anson 1 Y

No wonder I couldn't find Rachel - she had been transcribed as RICHD on the index :o :o

Looking at the ages of the John and Esther, I would guess that Thomas had been married before.

Living next door:-

John Anson 55 Sawyer Y
Martha Anson 50 Y
Benjamin Anson 15 Sawyer Y
Richd Anson 11 Y

And to think that I have already looked through the images for Munslow while searching for Humphreys!!!! - they were there all the time, peeping at me ;D

Well done, being shown as Richd would make it difficult !! May be Thomas and John were brothers ? just a thought.

Hi, found on IGI birth of John Handson to Thomas/Elizabeth Munslow 1786, so could be a brother.

Hi,

Thomas and Elizabeth are my 4 x g-grandparents. Rachel Humphreys was indeed Thomas Anson/Hanson's second wife; I'm descended from his first marriage to Mary who died in Feb 1831. Rachel was widowed before 1871 but married John Trow later that year.

Hi Lloydy and 233ac, Thomas and Rachael Hanson/Anson are my GG Grand parents.  I have been stuck on going further back past them for a while now but I have not given up !  Thanks for your interest in the family.

Hi Homeguard,

Good to find another connection - which of Thomas [2] and Rachael's children are you descended from? I am in touch with another cousin who is descended from their son Thomas [3] b. 1845. There's also another cousin who is descended from John b. 1786 who was a brother to Thomas [2]. My  2 x gt grandfather John, b. 1820 the son of Thomas [2] and his first wife Mary Edwards took his family to West Kirby, Wirral some time in the 1870's where my grandfather and father were born.

Hi Lloydy,

I too have had no success in many years looking for the parents of 4 x gt grandfather Thomas [1] but have some details of his wife Elizabeth Greene's line back another three generations. All I have on Thomas [1] is that I believe he was buried in Munslow in 1834 'aged 72'. So if you should be able to help there it would be much appreciated.
