Mooneys in Fermanagh
« on: Thursday 19 January 06 18:00 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find a trace of a John Mooney, born 1834 (I think), in Fermanagh and then moved to Scotland.  His father was John Mooney and his mother was possibly Ann Lennard.  Any help gratefully received.

A John Mooney b1834 married Ann McLeer or McTeer in Paisley on 31-01-1861.
Ann came from either Donegal or Tyrone
This John had a father called John who lived in Fermanagh and the father was married to Alice Lennard
Hope this helps.

You have the same information from the same source as me.  Do I take we are chasing the same information ?  Are you a Mooney, where are you ? in UK ?

This site www.irelandoldnews.com/Armagh/1845/18450318.html
mentions an assault on a Constable Mooney in 1854. There is a site that may interest you.  I regret I was unable to get it to work. Google for Cassidy's Place. It mentions the marriage of Ann Mooney to James Cassidy in the Parish of Enniskillen in 1834.

Christopher.

Yes I am a Mooney, UK based, and born and bred Paisley and if I can count back correctly I am a great/great grandson of John Mooney & Alice Lennard

What about yourself are you a Mooney? if so, what is your relationship to the  above John & Alice and are you UK based.
