Hi again Gill:
It looks like it is in the Waterside area. Here is map.
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=BT47+6BW&title=Dungiven+Road+Primary+&+Nursery+School&scale=25000

The school that is marked is on Dungiven Road.

I also found this:
The new Londonderry Union workhouse was erected in 1839-40 on a six-acre site on the north side of Glendermott Road (now Dungiven Road) at the east of Londonderry.

See map at: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/Londonderry/Londonderry.shtml

Good luck,

Pat

Hi there, Dungiven Road is in the Waterside area of Derry/Londonderry. It is one of the main roads in to Derry from the main Dungiven/Belfast route. Spencer Road, Glendermott Road, Clooney Terrace, Simpson's Bray all roads around this area. My Grandmother was born and reared in a house on the Dungiven Road (McAdorey)...There you have it

Dungiven rd is on a triangle. They call it the waterside triangle. its off glendermott rd, clooney street and dungiven rd.  it has carling terrace running parrell to it!

what is it you are looking for. my family own a hop on glendermott road. quigley shops. it was a newsagents and know nearly all the people living in the areas. from 1900 to 1950 +  and still now.

Hi Bigfellow,
The family I am looking for at Dungiven Road are McCormack/McCormick. Head of household would be Samuel, and he would have at least one child living with him, Elizabeth aged 4or 5 (born 1906 @ Dungiven Road). Sorry I dont have a house number, but would like to know if there were other children, and who Elizabeths mother was although I suspect she died when Elizabeth was very young / possibly after birth.
Any help appreciated. Many thanks. Gill
