Whitesides in Preesall
« on: Tuesday 17 January 06 23:59 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any Whitesides in Preesall at any time to try and tie my lot in somewhere.  I have spent many hours walking round local cemetaries, and I know there must be a link somewhere.
Any help gratefully received

My grandmother was Alice Whiteside (b. 9/9/1913), daughter of James Henry Whiteside (b. 29/8/1885) and Ann Horman (b. 1880 I think).  She had an older sister Edna (b1909) and an older brother Harry (b.1911,d.1921) who died after being hit with a cricket ball to the knee I believe.  James Henry is the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Whiteside I think, with brothers George and Jonathan.  From what you sent me, this is probably the same Alfred, with parents Jonathan and Ann.  I'd like to know more about any of them really if it's not too much effort - it will just give me more to go on next time I come up and trail round the graveyards.
Thanks for this so far.

Ooops, forgot - nan also had a younger brother Alfred who had 3 sons, Alfred, Barry and Kenny, with a lady called Doris.  I think he had another wife, Evelyn, at some time too.
