In answer to your PM, here is some information on Richard Tutt and others, gleaned from the Sussex Marriage Index.
The SMI has a great number of Tutt marriages in East Sussex, there being 18 for Richard Tutts alone. The Tutt surname seems to be almost exclusive to the East part of the county, starting in the north at Hailsham, down through Willingdon to Eastbourne. Along the coast it seems to spread from Brighton up to Hastings and Rye. Without counting them, I would say that the marriages are most numerous in Willingdon and Eastbourne.
