Census - Samuel Dunlop, Annie Hutchinson?
« on: Friday 13 January 06 18:12 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find information on a Samuel Dunlap (married to Annie Hutchenson) from the census(es) immediately before & after 1889.  Working on finding out who their children/parents are listed as.  Have records of SD&AH's children in the US after they imigrated in 1891, but looking for records in Ireland in an attempt to locate Samuel Dunlap's parents.

Children will include Elizabeth Dunlop, born 1884.

New to this, so really appreciate any help anyone can offer!  Thanks so much! (Hope I did this right!).

Great start.  They were from the District of Anahill in the Superintendent Registrar's District of Lisburn in the County of Downe (spelling)?  I have a certified copy of an entry of birth for Mary Jane Dunlap (born 6/26/1889 to Samuel Dunlap & Annie Hutchinson Dunlap).  Trying to find birth dates of parents (Samuel & Annie/Anna).  Their ADDRESS is listed as 10 Rainey Street, with his profession being listed as a labourer.

Also trying to date some old family photos from Belfast portrait studios if anyone has a link to search those... should I start a separate topic for that purpose?

I might be mistaken in this but im nearly sure Rainey Street was in Belfast.

The following was taken from the top of the documentation that provided the names/dates in my first post there...

the District of Anahill in the Superintendent Registrar's District of Lisburn in the County of Downe

I do believe the family was from Belfast as we have other documentation which supports that.

Maybe you should put a little post on the county Antrim board to. you never know you might be lucky

It was the mentioning of County Downe that was mixing me up especially with them coming from Belfast which is in County Antrim.

Good luck with the search

If there's a way to scan the documents in and attach them to a post, I can do that!  Might help to straighten the whole thing out! ::)

Hi.

Belfast 1884

Samuel Dunlop, Cashier, Queen Island Templemore Ave. East Belfast.

I think that came under Co Down.

Samuel B Dunlop, Groces 80-82 New Lodge Rd Co Antrim.
