Hi Tom,

Hey, thanks for that awesome information! :D  I had dates but no sources so that's added something real to my pile.  You rock!!! 8)

I didn't know you could join a library from abroad!  Wow!  Maybe I'll look into that.  I swear all of these Finey's are related but I obviously have gaps to see just where they all connect together.

Forever on the trail....

Cheers

Hi, Have just been doing some research and have come across your site, I am a descendant of Stephen Finey Jnr and Anna Maria Hecht, so was so happy to find lots of info on my family, all the info ties up with what I have already got.  It appears that Francis and Maria Finey came to Australia on the Ship "Lloyds from Gravesend on 1 August 1838 carrying 181 passengers who had applied for free passage to the new Colony of South Australia.  Hence some of the members of the family have Lloyd/Lloyds as there second name, as does my grandmother Elsie Lloyd.  Hope this bit of info helps.  Sorry does not help you find your New Zealand people.

Hi Lesm,

Hey!  It's nice to see you on the site!  WELCOME!!! ;D ;D

And since you are a cuzzie of mine - YAY!  Big hugs from NZ!!!

Thanks for the wee bit of info that I can use to tidy up some details.  No worries at all on which line you belong to - you are still family!!!  And that's so cool!  ;D

I haven't managed to find you yet.  I only have three kids of Elsie's - M, C and J, so I'm unsure if I have all the family yet.  I have heaps of Aussie's on my tree from your line...only because they were easier to find than mine!!!

Okay since you are here....if you make two more postings on Rootschat you will see a little wee green scroll-type figure appear below your user name on your posts.  It's used by members to communicate privately so sensitive information can be shared and stuff like that.  So please, please keep chatting on here so that maybe I can get to know you and your family better and other things.  Of course it is entirely your choice.  Oh wait, I can see it already...man, I am such a ditz! :D

Honestly, meeting family on this site is the BEST thing about it.  That, and all the super helpful people you will find here.

Cheers
