1861 Census - Twickenham - Indexed?
« on: Tuesday 14 September 04 01:20 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

Is the 1861 census indexed? If so, what type of Index? Surname/Street, etc.

Thanks,

Sean.

I don't think the 1861 has been indexed yet, but West Middlesex FHS have indexed the 1851 for Brentford Reg Dist, which includes Twickenham onto fiche.  It is a surname index, so it would be Surname, Census Piece No and Folio.

I have just realised that I have the 1851 index for Twickenham!  I do not have the census though, but you could use the references from it to ask others for a lookup.

If this is of any use, let me know who it is that you are after.

Hi there,

Could you do a lookup for the surname BARNHAM.

Thanks.

Here you go, all the references for the surname BARNHAM in Isleworth and Twickenham.  As Twickenham covers folios 395 - 616, Folio 613 would seem to be the most likely, but you never know!

All on Census Piece; HO107/1698

Folios;
86v, 87, 172, 181, 238v, 239, 289, 350, 380, 613.

Hi dogbolter

As I haven't heard from you, I am going to assume that you no longer require this information and move this post over the the Middlesex Completed Requests board.

If this is not the case, then please feel free to post again or ask me to move your post back to the "active" forum.

Best Wishes
Rick :)
