if you are still wondering where exactly headlam street is, i have found it on old-maps.co.uk the 1895 map shows healam street as being what we know now as tilery way on google maps, i have counted the houses from the old map and can tell you that number 66 was opposite a school, now i have no idea what denomination of school it was, hope that helps a little

It would be Tilery primary School, that was the only school at Tilery.

Thank you DawnKaren, I do appreciate any help or direction I can get with regard to my Dads family. I will have a look at the map to see Headlam Street, pity there are no photos about. Thank you for your input, I really enjoy receiving information on the area as it all adds to my family history.

regards
malshie

Hi Mandy!!!!!!!!!!
Just settled down to yet another stint on 'Ancestry dot co dot etc', Googled: 1,Joseph Street, Stockton, 1919 & :o ........ up you popped!
I've only been looking since February this year but have managed to get back to 1720 on Erica's partner's side, 1695 on Tony's side, and 1682 on my mam's side. The Wilkinsons proved a bit harder and am only back to John b.1792 with Mary b.1806 and Edward Nixon b.1826 with Jane b.1843. I've been looking through your postings on this site (for about an hour until I plucked up the courage to sign on) and am slightly reassured you're having as much difficulty as I am with Grandma Wilkinson 'cos I thought I was going mad with it all! I have photos of us being bridesmaids at Ray&Mary's wedding, in fact I have photos of everyone I need except your mam & dad. If you see this, could you let me know if we can hook up? (Sorry but I lost your e-mail address after Peta's 50th)
