I am in fact descended from the same Josiah Welch, b.1836, whom you have discussed. You have obviously worked very hard and cleverly to uncover his true status as the illegitimate son of Jane, and I am most interested to know of it. I guess this means I should now be adding a further "Great" to Timothy Welch?
My Grandfather was Charles Amos Welch, b. 1862. He died before I was born, but as a child I do remember visiting his brother, Great Uncle George. I think my father also had cousins living in Manchester and Bedford, and we went to Manchester once to meet them.
