1841 Census - Savage of Rodborough
« on: Monday 02 January 06 22:02 GMT (UK) »

Would someone be able to locate JAMES SAVAGE (1779-1848) on the 1841 Gloucestershire Census, please?

I know he lived in the County but would like to know if he was born there.

James Savage lived at Little London, Rodborough in 1848 but also may have resided at Randwick, Stonehouse and Stroud.

Thank you.

Hi Susan

Thanks very much for your reply. The James Savage you listed is not 'mine', I'm afraid.

It may help for you to know that James' wife was ELIZABETH SAVAGE (c1778-1864). She died at Rodborough.

Can I confirm that the 1841 information you have covers the WHOLE of Gloucestershire, please?

Thanks again.

Hi Cambrian,

Here's info from visit to RO.

Baptism St. Lawrence, Stroud

1779 31st January  James son of James Savage;  by his Wife Elizabeth, Daur of Aaron Parslow.

What a bonus having the maiden name  :D

Death of James Savage 1826 (father of above?)

Name:  James Savage
Abode: Callowell, Stroud
When buried: 4th August 1826
Age:  91

Having age at death you may be able to find birth record from IGI (family search).

Good luck
