Lookup or help on Bretherton 1855 Lytham

Trying to find ifo on  parents of William Bretherton born 1855 in Lytham.

His son was John Bretherton born 10 march 1882 Living in North Meols, he married Sara McCandlish on 1st  March 1912

Elizabeth Bretherton - wife - 36 - b. Marton
Esther Bretherton - dau. - 9 - scholar - b. Marton
William Bretherton - son - 5 - scholar - b. Lytham

Actually, Elizabeth and Esther were born in Martin, Lancashire. (silly me!)

The 1851 census has:

John Bretherton - 24 - agr. labourer - b. Lytham
Elizabeth - 27 - b. Martin
James - 1 - b. Lytham

Born Sept 12th and baptised Oct 2nd 1831 John son of Robert and Ann Bretherton ,This doesn't match the age on the 1861 census but I didn't find any other Brethertons on the records,I think the church was St Cuthbert's.
