They have mostly been transcribed and indexed in Deal public library.  The original registers are at Canterbury Cathedral Archives.  Alternatively, you could probably get the films through your local LDS centre.

Hi Karen

If you cannot get to Deal library or Canterbury Cathedral Archives (appointments necessary) then you can order the films to view at your local family history centre - see http://www.familyhistory.org for locations and films available via their family history library catalogue.

There are some lookups available via the Kent Lookup Exchange http://members.tripod.com/~jo42/knt.html

If you have problems accessing the records, I will be going to the library soon (when the snow clears!) and can do lookups for you if you let me know exactly what you are looking for.

Well, I'm stuck on the Bailey's of Deal and I'd like to get further with that but I don't know if Parish records would help or not. I get over to Deal every other week or so, I just don't know how to look through the records. Sounds stupid I know. I'd like to find the marriage of John Bailey b c1856 to Sarah b c1854. And then I think John's father was also a John b c1820. He married Hannah and then had four sons - John , James b c1858, William b c1861, Charles b c1869. I'd like to find out more about them and be able to prove the links. Then I'd like to go back further. It was a mariner family but I have no idea of what ships they were on. I found a reference to one of them. He stole two bits of rope and ended up doing two months in Sandwich Gaol.

I've sent you a personal message with some information.  I would be happy to meet you in the library and go through the records with you next time you are in Deal.
