I'm researching the Philpott's in Whitstable.  Its a new branch I've just started on so don't have many as yet, I'll keep my eye out for any Ramsgate links and if I find any I'll let you know.

I'm as far back as Stephen Philpott (my grt grt grt grandfather) born abt 1813 in Whitstable/Sandgate (censuses differ) who married Ellen and had kids, Elizabeth, William, Ellen, George, Amelia, Stephen, Richard and James.  I'm not too sure about the Sandgate bit as everything else seems to be Whitstable.

You never know we may meet on a twig somewhere!

I am only just researching Philpott in Whitstable, Kent, and I have the following names:-

Emily Philpott b. c1801-1805 Whitstable (m) Henry Walker b.c1800 Whitstable occ. Mariner. Married 18 June 1826 Whitstable.
James Philpott b. c1816 Whitstable (occ. Blacksmith) brother of Emily Philpott above.

I have him on my tree with extra progeny, Frederick, born circa 1853/54 and living with the family on the 1861 census.

My current interest is in James John born 1851/52 who married Charlotte Webb and then Jane Rigden. However, I expect to find in due course that Stephen b circa 1811-13 is the brother of a William Henry, blacksmith, born circa 1807/08 who is a direct lineal ascendent of mine.

The Whitstable Philpott families seem almost certainly to be all  related and to converge around the 1790s or 1800s.

Hi Grey Squirrel.  Oops I forgot to update my tree to include Frederick that you told me about on Oystertown.

Hi Suzannah.   I found your trees on worldconnect and you have a William Henry Philpott born 1808 who married Ann and had kids Emily, Sarah, Rachel, William Henry, James Alfred, Rosannah, Albert Osbourne.

It looks like between us we may have found four brothers and sisters: Emily born 1801-05, William born 1808, Stephen born 1813 and James born 1816. 

If anyone has access to the parish records it would be nice if we could get the proof, so if anyone has access to them and wouldnt mind giving a bit of time to looking I'd be everso grateful.

Sarah married my ancestor Thomas Peirce Smith in Boughton under Blean in 1860

 I have just found your link on the internet about the Philpott family. My mothers family tree has Philpotts in. Stephen Philpott 1812 Whitsable  a blacksmith had 2 daughters Amelia and Ellen. Amelia 1843 married my great grandfather William Adams in 1862 and lived in Whitstable. Ellen married Williams brother John Adams and lived in Whitstable. Cheers Willowmac
