And they are in Kent.  Herberts 2 sons were born in Devon port, and it's believed he always remained local (he had connections to the docks at Devonport - service of work?).

I had a quick look at the other places but didn't find anything. Haven't got a lot of time now, so maybe someone else can find something. 

Your best bet now is probably to sort out your tree and then make new requests about specific people and places.

   Did you know that there is an Edgecombe one-name study by an Alan Taylor?  He has done a great deal of Edgecombe research into probably all branches of the family - from Cornwall, Devon,  Gloucestershire and elsewhere.  An Edgecombe magazine is published and distributed to 'members' each Quarter and the various branches of the family are kept up to date with new findings. I would be really grateful for any info on the edgecombe family. I have recently started my own research and cannot seem to get beyond g.grandad.his name was arthur collins edgecombe.he died in ww1, His father was arthur,and i know nothing thereon g.g.grandad lived in paddington around the turn of the century and up to 1916 when a.c.edgcombe died in Salonika.i dont know if there were siblings. a.c.had a son henry,he had a son robert henry,my father.He had two sons and a daughter.  the magazine sounds interesting,didn't know it existed. If anybody else thinks the names sound familiar,please,please,please make contact.  thanks
