1841 West riding census - look up request
« on: Wednesday 08 September 04 21:55 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate a look up if possible on the census for Halifax 1841.

The family I am looking for is the Lord family, father William Lord, mother Elizabeth Lord and I hope they were living in Orange Street Halifax.

Would appreciate any info possible.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Alison

Hi Alison

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Again; the 1841 calderdale name index is at www.familyhistoryonline.net. Where *have* these requests been hiding?

Sorry, no it isn't, I'm thinking of Huddersfield.

Thanks for replying Ticker, no luck as yet, still awaiting a look up on the 1841 census for Halifax in the West Riding.

Like you I thought I would have had a reply before now, as I don't bother to ask for look ups unless someone is offering them on the West Riding look ups board, and there is someone offering look ups on the West Riding census 1841.

Still waiting patiently

Alison

Hi Alison

Thanks for the update.

If you see someone offering a lookup and you get no response to a request it is probably wise to send a polite personal message to that person to give them a nudge.  I think lookups in the 1841 census is quite difficult, so you will need to be very specific about the details if you can.  This may be why you have not had a response yet.

Good luck - let me know how you get on.

Best wishes

Thanks Gabby, sorry I can't be more specific about the address.  William and his wife should be living there with at least 2 maybe 3 children, John and Amelia certainly.

Best wishes
Alison
