Hello, I think I am descended from William James Rickwood of Lambeth. His father was William Ricwood. He later immigrated to Canada. I would be very happy to share whatever information I have.

Sincerely,

Hello Jillian,

I was really pleased to see your reply ;D This is as much information I have on the family.

Henry Rickwood born 1831-1884  Married to Mary Ann born 1836
Children
William Haycock born 1857 Lambeth
Joseph born 1861 London
George born 1862 London
Arthur born 1872 Manchester

I have been unable to find a marriage for Henry and Mary.

I have located the family in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census and the family had relocated to Salford Lancashire.

Hi Sarah

I researching the Rickwood family who were living in Lambeth in 1857.
I have Henry and Mary Ann and there children William, Joseph and George.
Henry Rickwood born 1831-1884  Married to Mary Ann born 1836
Children
William Haycock born 1857 Lambeth
Joseph born 1861 London
George born 1862 London
Arthur born 1872 Manchester

Have you seen this from the 1871 census on line.

To much of your information matches up with this for it to be a coincidence - wifes name, boys names, boys ages, etc.

RG10/ 120/ Folio 73/ Page 17 – Number 24, No 2 Wing, St Matthew, London

RICKWOOD Harry, Head, Marr, 45, Bricklayer, born Ely, Cambridge
Mary A, Wife, Marr, 35, born Ely Cambridgeshire
Harry, Son, Unm, 16, born Paddington, Middlesex
William, Son, Unm, 14, Scholar, born Lambeth, Surrey
Joseph, Son, Unm, 10, Scholar, born Lambeth, Surrey
George, Son, Unm, 8, Scholar, born Westminster, Middlesex
Ella, Dau, Unm, 2, born Westminster, Middlesex

The enumerators return definitely says it is Harry, but dont forget, he copied it off the original, so could have made a mistake.

Sarah

The IGI says he was baptized

Henry Rickwood – son of James Rickwood and Ann Chandler
On 7th Feb 1826 at Trinity, Ely, Cambridge.

It also says that James Rickwood married Ann Chandler
On 1st April 1819 at Trinity, Ely, Cambridge

Hope that meets with your approval
