in the Parish of Prees they had the following children

William ROLES married Elizabeth Langford 26 November 1872 at the Parish church of Wednesfield they had the following Children

Herbert Richard ROLES 1875 Ashton under Lyne
John ROLES 1877 Ashton under Lyne
Frank ROLES 1879 Ashton under Lyne
Martha Elizabeth ROLES   1883 Bacup

After Elizabeth Langfords death in 1891 William ROLES remarried a Margaret Macadam in February 1896

William Henry ROLES married Catherine Green who was previously married her maiden name was Catherine SMOUT they had the following children

Elizabeth ROLES my grandmother b 16 November 1897 at South Manchester
Gladys ROLES b 2 Jul 1899 Ardwick Manchester.

I am currently in contact with distant relatives of my Great Grandfather William Henry ROLES his brothers lived  at SALE along with my GGGrandfather.

I have dates of deaths of some of these ROLES but this is about all the information I have currently on file

Hi Sarah

Is it only the ROLES spelling you are interested in? I have ROWLES in my tree, and further back there were different spellings. They ended up in London from around 1820s, but seem to have been in Croydon then Kent and Sussex before that.

This is a line I have had a lot of brick walls with. When I saw that you have mentioned London in your signature, I wondered where and when? As I say, my ROWLES were in Southwark, Borough, from 1820s onwards, where they were Silk Dyers then in engineering.

Do you know anything about the Rev William Rolles (various spellings).  I believe he was rector of Pinner until about 1660 when he was evicted and then set up his own independent chapel which was licensed in 1672.  I am particularly interested in where he actually lived and who he married.
