Obituaries from Maidstone
« on: Thursday 08 December 05 01:33 GMT (UK) »
Being in the US, how would one go about finding obituaries that would've appeared in Maidstone's newspaper-provided it had one at the time? Dates I am interested in consist of 1891, 1884, 1873, 1903, 1904, 1946. I have more specifics on the people/dates, but didn't bother to list them as I don't even know if Maidstone had a newspaper then. Any advice/help/info. greatly appreciated.
GROVER, BAKER, SIMMONDS, DAVALL, HAYES, HILLS in Maidstone, Kent

Hi Epo

I can't help you directly but Maidstone Local Studies Library hold a good collection of old newspapers both on microfilm and hard copy:

There would appear to be a number of newspapers to choose from but I'm sure they will know which are the most likely to have obituaries for your family.  As far as I am aware, they will still do half an hours research for free and from thereon require payment:

I couldn't see an email address
