Anyone researching McCloy Yet ?
« on: Monday 05 December 05 17:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Every now and then i ask this question,i Have had all my information a few years. So far no one else seems to have any McCloys on their tree.I have my own branch from Glasgow 1792 to my g.Grandmothers (Jane McCloy born Bridge of weir Rfw 1841) She married George James baron in Scotland in 1866.Died in blackburn early 1900? Her parents were Richard McCloy and Ann nee Sanson of Glasgow.Have loads of information to share on various branches. A booklet was made up of all my McCloys,on odd occations spelt McLay, from all the official records incuding the Latter Day saints.According to that .Younger generations spead out over scotland. So if you have any McCloys no matter how far removed  i would be interested to know.

Maybe one day My Star will Shine on Me ;D ;D

Hi Celia

I have a lot of McCloy information in my tree going back to a George McCloy from Craigs, Antrim.  Most of them ended up in Greenock, down the Clyde from Glasgow.  I have my most updated tree on GenesReunited.com and can get you access to it if you are a member of that site (its a free site and i've found it quite useful).  My mother's maiden name is McCloy and I have loads of family still back in Scotland.

I've also got lots of McCloy records and files that don't fit in to my tree or I haven't connected.  You can email me directly at atherholt at comcast.net
