While looking in Coggeshall marriages for someone (D/P 36/1/8 fiche 2 of 3) I came across this SEWELL marriage which seemed worth making a note of:
James SEWELL of Yeovil in Somerset bachelor married Sophia TAYLOR of Coggeshall spinster by licence 4 Sep 1807
Both signed register
Witnesses were Charles NEWMAN and Frances EAGLE who both signed

I also have Sewells in my tree.  Mine are from Lt Dunmow in Essex

although I don't have any Sewells in Essex that I know of I do have a large daterbase of Sewells from all over the place  so I may be able to help you

The Sewells in the tree I am searching are from
Baddow circa 1837
Ramsden Bellhouse
West Hanningfield

I have a problem with one James born either 1835 or 1837 who I can't quite match up yet, I suspect he didn't know his correct D of B on the census
