You don't give many dates, so I cannot be sure that these folk are connected - except that it is a coincidence!!

thought you might like them anyway!

PANTON Clara W M 28 - florist - St Andrews, London
PANTON Anthony son 7 - Clerkenwell
PANTON Clara dau 7 months - ditto

Hope there is a connection there somewhere.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Hello again

I have had a look, but can't see anyone that matches Joseph.  When do you think Antonio came to Britain?  Have you got him on any censuses?  Any clues to his mother's name (he might have named his own children after her)?

;)

This guy is indexed as Joseph Penton, but the image isn't terribly clear:

1851 census:
HO107/1516/645/14 - Clerkenwell Green, Finsbury
Joseph Penton  35  Artificial Florist  b. Italy
(??)Gusarino Calme  27  Artificial Florist  b. Italy

Midlife crisis leading to serious career change?  ;D

To be honest, I don't think he's a very likely match, but I couldn't find any other Italians with a name even remotely close - it looks as if Antonio came to England on his own between 1861 and 1871.
