Albert Edward Cole
« on: Thursday 01 December 05 22:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I wonder if anyone has any information on Albert Edward Cole born 24th July 1901 in Chertsey Surrey England. I know he emigrated to Australia, but have no information at all as to when he went other than he went as a very young man or where.
I know this is a long shot, but have no idea how to go about finding out.
I appreciate any help that can be given.
Thanks
Sue

Do you know who his parents were? there are 3 possibilities in NSW Deaths:

died 1952  Gosford NSW parents Albert Edward and Lena Clara.

died 1969  Sydney  NSW parents Frederick Henry and Elizabeth.

died 1937  parents Robert and unknown.

If one of these is your man, reply and I'll let you know how to apply for the death cert.

Sorry, but can't help with other states.

Thanks for looking Diana, his parents were Henry Thomas and Mary Ann Cole, they lived in Chertsey, Surrey England and never actually emigrated.

I believe that Albert left England for Australia either in his teens or early twenties. Unfortunately all relatives that actually new him have died now, so I am unable to find out where he went.

Again, I would appreciate any help anyone can give me on where Albert Edward actually went in Australia.

Thanks
Sue

There is an Albert Edward listed in the WWI records on
www.naa.gov.au - go to record search & search as a guest. He is probably unlikely to be yours, but many young men lied about their age - and there is no cost to request a digital copy of the record.

Hi Sue

The Victorian indexes have two possibles.

Albert COLE parents: Unknown died South Melbourne 1951 aged: 50 ref: 13520
Albert Edwards COLE Parents: Henry Edward & Eliza DALIMORE died Heidelberg 1954 aged: 53 Ref: 9383
I know the parents names are not correct but the person giving them didn't necessarily know the right names.

Cheers

Genni
