I am researching my Great, Great, Great grandfather  William Forbes of Inverness. Being an Australian I have limited knowledge of Scotland & would be very appreciative of any information on William.
William was a Painter and Glazier who moved to London.
He was convicted of privately stealing on 22 Feb 1828 at Middlesex G.D. and was sent to Australia as a convict on the Ship Albion (3), from Sheerness on 1 June 1828, arriving in Sydney 3 November 1828.
On his convict details it states that he was a native of Inverness.

Hi there,

I'm curious about your William FORBES. I'm also an Australian with FORBES ancestry from Inverness. My family originated from Moy & Dalarossie in Inverness. My Alexina FORBES was a free settler who came to Newcastle, NSW with her husband in the mid 1800's.

Cheers,
Donna.
