1891 census:

RG12/4476/11/54 - 42/43 Jersey St, Swansea
Robert Fry  Head  54  Baker & Grocer  b. Clumstock, Devon
Jemima Fry  Wife  53  b. (?)Upostory, Devon
Jemima Fry  Dau  26  Assistant Grocer  b. Swansea
Elizabeth Fry  Dau  20  Assistant Grocer  b. Swansea
Frederick J Fry  Son  17  Assistant Baker  b. Swansea
Harriet Fry  Dau  14  Assistant Baker  b. Swansea
Walter J Fry  Son  9  Assistant Baker  b. Swansea

1901 census:

RG13/5073/11/14 - 42 Jersey St, Swansea
Robert Fry  Head  68  Baker & Grocer  b. Coombe Stock, Devon
Jemima Fry  Wife  67  b. Uporty, Devon
Walter J Fry  Son  20  Grocer & Shopkeeper b. Swansea

Fry isn't a particularly common name in Swansea - if you search FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl, you can probably find the children's births and marriages.

Will try and find Robert in 1851 later!

I haven't identified Robert definitely in 1851 yet, but the IGI has 2 possibilities:

Robert Fry, son of Robert Fry and Ann, b. Culmstock, Devon, 1 Apr 1832.

Robert Fry, son of Thomas Fry and Jane, b. Culmstock, Devon, 24 Sep 1835.

These are extracted records, ie. copied from parish registers, and normally reliable.  The second one is a better match for age, but I have only found the other one so far on the 1851 census.  :(

The IGI also has a user-submitted marriage record between Robert Fry, son of Thomas Fry, and Jemima Trenchard, dau of John Trenchard, in Pitminster, Somerset,in 1860.  User-submitted records vary in reliability, and the marriage date looks like an estimate, but I looked up Jemima in the 1851 census and found this entry:

HO107/1922/106/24 - Pitminster, Somerset
John Trenchard  Head  61  Dairyman  b. Dunkinwell, Somerset
Betty Trenchard  Wife  57  b. [...]liscombe
Jemima Trenchard  Dau  13  b. Upottery
Jonathan Oaten  Son-in-law  21  Ag Lab  b. Pitminster
Harriet Oaten  Dau  21  b. Upottery
Janet Oaten  G Dau  4m  b. Pitminster

She would certainly fit the census details for Mrs Jemima Fry.

Just found a possibility for Robert, aged 13 and working as a farm labourer in Culmstock - index says Fay, but I read it as Fry.

Thank you, you've been of great help.

Robert was the son of Thomas fry and Jane Trickey. (I can't find anything about theses two.)

That was one of the only pieces of information I had found. The other was that he had gone to live in Swansea. I knew of a Aunt Harriet and that was all.

The only brother that I can't find now is Thomas born 1830.
