Hi giblaw,
Checked the 1841 name index, I can't find James, Ann, and William living as a family unit.

Hello

I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this rather old request.
Are you still looking for the informtion or found in the meantime?

If I don't hear from you in a while I'll assume the latter and move it to the Completed section.

Regards
Biker

Hello

There is this possibility ... perhaps a second marriage considering children's ages?

1841 - Laurel Tree, Bayham Street, St Pancras Marylebeone

James Gibson 40 Professor of ? forte, b. S (Scotland)
Elizabeth 30 Not Born in County
William 15
Robert 8
Thomas 6
James 4
All children Born in County

HO107/681/1
Folio:    24
Page:    42

Perhaps someone else might be able to to read the occupation.

hi biker    thank you so much i think you have cracked it with the gibson/gibsone family i have been looking for as you said it is likely that james gibson remarried as there are to many other coincidences e.g.  area, profession, birthplace etc.. not to be him and later on in other census some of his children take on the name gibsone, once again i can't thank you enough.  all the best  chris  (giblaw)

It looks to be Professor of Pianoforte - which fits in with a musical son.
