Reed and Stokes families of Castleford
« on: Monday 28 November 05 21:03 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me with info of relatives of the Reed family of Gloucestershire, Ruardean area and the Stokes family from Staffordshire Tipton Sedgeley or Dudley area. They moved to Castleford in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Thanks

Hi
Have you any names, ages dates of birth etc? Just so we know who we are looking for.
Will gladly check the census returns if I know who to look for

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I seem to have taken the family back to the 1700s but having trouble with more recent members of the family. Have comprehensively searched all census up to anf including 1901 plus BMD it maybe that electoral rolls and deaths are whats left.
ISAAC STOKES 8.11.1863 m Mary Perry had several children JAMES HORACE 1885 (have traced him and family to present day). Possibly CHARLES 1888 and GEORGE 1889 both born Staffs. FRANK 1893 Castleford possibly married to an Edith Booth aware of one possible son FRED. ISAAC CLIFFORD 1893 but could have died at a young age. MINNIE 1895 details again of that line to present day, HARRY 1899 Castleford m possibly a Elsie Petit a possible son ARTHUR b 1924 . FRED 1902 and CLIFFORD 1904 both Castleford.
