family of Richard POOLE
« on: Sunday 27 November 05 17:03 GMT (UK) »
I am hoping that the following info may match someones family tree ;

my great grandfather Richard Poole , born ? , probably c 1850's . occupation colliery charter master .

my grandfather  Richard Poole , born c 1877 , occupation colliery charter master then iron foundry foreman .
married 1907 to Annie Taylor of Leegomery , Madely.

My father Richard Philip Poole , born july 1909 at Leegomery , Madeley . occupation farmer .
married Phyllis Price .

There is a vague family story that grandfather had a brother , name not known , who emigrated to Calgary , Canada to buy a horse ranch .

Thats all I know , hope someone can add to this .
Regards ,
Dave poole .

Have you located the family on the 1881 census?  You can search it free at http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=search_all1.asp&clear_form=true.  If you find a match there, we can look for them on other censuses.

Noah Attwood married Catherine Poole in Wishaw, Scotland c.1937. It is believed that Catherine's family came from the same area of Shropshire as Noah's.

In 1881 Noah Attwood's father (also Noah) was living at.............Coppice Houses!!!

Could there be a connection? Do you know of a branch of the family who moved to Scotland?

I am in contact with Noah and Catherine's son (my 4th cousin once removed)
Wellington/Dawley areas - Attwood, Podmore, Wall

Hello Alnat ,

I am intrigued with your news about the link to Coppice Houses and will try to find out more .
I am not aware of family links to Scotland , but till a few  weeks  ago  I  did  not  Know  that my grandfather Richard Poole had so many brothers and a sister .
So it is possible that one of them  was an ancestor of Catherine , especially with the link to Coppice Houses .
I shall try to find out what I can and let you know .
Perhaps someone reading this may know of a link to this family at Old Park ,Dawley, if so please let us know .
Regards ,
David Poole .
