Would be interested to know if anyone is researching John Matthias who married Mary Hughes in Brymbo. 6th March 1790. John  was a Collier.
believe these two could be my 3 x great grandparents.
regards, JUNE.

Hi, I'm just starting to research my family tree, and my great grandfather's mother's name, before marriage, was Harriet Matthias from around Brymbo. She Married Thomas Griffiths.
I estimate she was born c1830, but don't have anymore information.

I'm guessing there is probably some connection here?
George/Griffiths from Broughton area

Hi,

I have a marriage for a Harriet Matthias aged 21 to a Thomas Griffiths aged 21 on the 22nd May 1865.  Father of Thomas given as Edward Griffiths Collier which was also Thomas's job.  Father of Harriet given as David Matthias also a collier. Both stating they where born in Broughton. The witness where Edward Griffiths and Ann Griffiths.  If ages are correct it makes Harriet and Thomas born 1844. Findmypast has Harriet born Oct/Dec quarter 1845. To many Thomas's.  I do have another book with all the Matthias baptism's, marriage and deaths but at the moment don't know where my daughter has put it as she is the one who has been looking at the Matthias's family.

Hi Jeze & Norma,

Harriet Matthias was my 3 x great Aunt.

She was born on 6th of October 1845 at Cerney, Broughton the daughter of David and Ann Matthias nee Thomas. She was baptised at Brymbo Parish Church on the 7th of December 1845 (Along with her brother Joseph).

She married Thomas Griffiths son of an ISHMAEL Griffiths on the 22 May 1865 again at Brymbo Parish Church ...............and again on the same day as her brother Joseph Matthias, who married an Elizabeth Dodd.

Thomas Griffiths died in September 1902 and Harriet Griffiths nee Matthias died in June 1917.

I have lots of information on the Matthias family, if I can be of any assistance in your research please don't hesitate to ask,

Kindest Regards - Rowlandson
